Who Really Needs to Get Well:

This morning I was saddened to hear that someone I look up to was sick and in the hospital. My sadness was amplified throughout the morning as I read a great deal of comments on message boards and twitter not only claiming that his sickness was justified by his actions, but also wishing death upon him. These comments come at the end of a year where Americans witnessed incredible leftist hatred against Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean, Mr. Limbaugh and several others; all while democrats controlled both houses of congress and the great “unifier” Barrack Obama was president.

Wishing that someone fails is completely different than wishing for their death. The notion that because Rush “hopes Obama fails” it is reasonable to hope for his death is immoral. It was disturbing to witness the Obama administration’s and the far left’s relentless attack on fox news and talk radio throughout this year. It is far more disturbing to realize the left not only wants the opposition quiet, but dead.

I for one do not waste time wishing for the death of entertainers. I imagine that if I did I still would not gloat about one’s illness either vocally or on the internet. I will not only be praying for Rush’s recovery, but for the members of the far-left that have completely lost their moral compass and any bit of class.

Leftist Suppression

Throughout my time in the public school system, I was constantly reminded of the Catholic Church’s responsibility for the dark ages. The most repeated example being their treatment of Galileo and his discoveries, which have since been proven indisputable. My liberal instructors would usually use this example to support their claim that religion was a suppressor of science and a controller of minds. However the ideology subscribed to by my teachers has been responsible for the exact same transgressions, and on subjects arguably more important than the Solar System or Terminal Velocity.

Climate Change:

The Climate-gate scandal has finally proven the extent of suppression used by global warming advocates. Email data reveals the most reputable proponents of climate change doctored data, destroyed documents and lied about findings to support their theory. All while intimidating, ridiculing and shunning their opponents. This theory is also the catalyst for a cap and trade bill that will cost our economy millions of jobs and our GDP a cumulative $9.4 trillion. Therefore, it is fair to say supporters of this theory are attempting to suppress more than just the scientific method.

Business Science:

Through the perversion and/or disregard of the theories of economics, the left has suppressed growth of knowledge in and understanding of business across the World. In a situation that is strikingly similar to the recession of the early 80's, the left has chosen to ignore the solutions proven by Ronald Reagan. Our leadership has instead chosen to pursue policies similar to Roosevelt’s in the 1930's and the more recently failed economy of Japan. The suppression of the lesson our nation learned just 25 years ago has already caused over 10% unemployment and could possibly lead to a second great depression.

Medical Science:

Easily accessible statistics clearly show that fewer people die of curable diseases in the United States than anywhere else in the World. The top five American hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single developed country. However, the left only refers to our healthcare system as unfair and evil. Harry Reid went so far as to compare opponents of healthcare reform to opponents of abolition and women’s suffrage.

It is absurd to refer to a system where fewer people die as less fair than another. It is ridiculous to claim that a system that performs more trials to cure illnesses and improve care than any other is evil. The left’s healthcare agenda will not just give more control to the government. It will suppress the system that is the premier driver of medical advances and improvement of the human condition.

The Catholic Church has been embarrassed by history as Galileo’s claims were eventually found to be correct. In contrast, the left’s claims can already be proven incorrect by a brief study of history and/or facts. Anyone who analyzes the economic situation of the 1980's, the mortality rates for curable illnesses or the sources of the World’s CO2 can easily refute leftist claims. For that reason, and that their suppression affects the livelihoods and health of the entire human race, the left is far more evil than the Church they constantly condemn.

The Twisted Media and Political Correctness

This week America’s leftist “mainstream media” defended a murderer. The left went out of its way to avoid calling Major Hassan a terrorist. They made excuses for his activities claiming he was harassed; he had PTSD; and he was having difficulty struggling with the morality of the war. All while a former president used a perverse, sexual euphemism to describe the tea party movement and a sexual video of an under-aged Carrie Prejean was cause for leftist celebration.

On November 9, Chris Matthews found common ground with Hassan. He claimed he had problems with the war as well. Matthews went on to defend our military’s ignorance of Hassan’s behavior claiming "it’s not illegal to call Al Qaeda.” This is especially offensive when one recalls Mathews’ support for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s’ focus on the "rise of right wing extremism" earlier this year. It seems a movement of protesters that insist on cleaning up after themselves is more worrisome to Mr. Matthews than one (radical Islam) that has killed thousands of our troops.

Even more disturbing is the report that Hassan’s colleagues felt afraid to punish or report his behavior due to fear of being politically incorrect. This is a country where Bill Clinton refers to conservative activists as "tea baggers" and Sarah Palin is relentlessly mocked and ridiculed in every conceivable way. A country where the media feels it necessary to expose a sexually explicit video of Carrie Prejean, when she was seventeen, due to the fact she now opposes same-sex marriage. However, at the same time, members of our military feel afraid to condemn an ideology they are at war with for fear of being offensive.

The President himself went out of his way to avoid insulting Major Hassan by calling him a terrorist. He even went as far to insinuate that the blame may fall on the military, saying, “Even within the extraordinary military that we have...There are going to be instances in which an individual cracks.” A stark contrast to Obama’s reaction to the April 15th protests when he promptly dismissed the participants as misinformed goons that were, "Waving tea bags around.” Which were strikingly similar to his comments during the town-hall protests in August when he urged his supporters to, "get in the face" of their political opponents and to stand up for his reforms.

Obviously, the President responded more forcefully to the protests due to the fact that he felt they were personal attacks on him and his policies. However, I would like to remind Obama that he is Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces. It would be perfectly appropriate for him to respond to the murder of 13 soldiers on American soil as something that is personally offensive.

Michelle Bachmann Rally: Thursday at Noon

The plan is to meet Michele on the steps of the Capitol at Noon on Thursday. After a rally the attendees will then travel through congressional offices together to confront members of congress regarding Pelosi's new health care bill.

Rush and the Rams

Last night I saw one of the best football games I’ve ever seen. The Dolphins and Jets saw five lead changes in the fourth quarter while two young quarterbacks displayed their vast potential. I’m very thankful for that experience, as it may be the last time I ever enjoy watching anyone or anything involved with the National Football League.

Throughout that game, the NFL reached out to its Hispanic fans, celebrating “Hispanic Heritage Month,” something I approve of, from both an American and a marketing perspective. Lisa Baird, an NFL senior vice president said “We're excited to honor our Hispanic players, coaches, front-office personnel and our fans this month.” The NFL recently debuted a new Hispanic-themed website, television program and marketing campaign as they continue to reach out to our southern neighbors. “One of the distinguishing characteristics of football is the way it brings diverse groups of people together," said Baird.

But less than 24 hours after Ronnie Brown’s game winning touchdown, the NFL and the media were gripped in one of the most discriminatory incidents I have witnessed in my young life. Networks, pundits, a players union representative and the NFL commissioner all joined forces to bar Rush Limbaugh from purchasing the St. Louis Rams. Apparently conservatives are not one of the “diverse groups of people” Baird and the league hope to bring together.

Rush is a highly competitive, self-made businessman with tremendous personality. He is from Missouri. In a legitimate quote from his show today, he said “I’ve always had a dream of being involved in the National Football League, I love it.” He also described his desire to be part of a national championship organization. He is the ideal owner of the now struggling St. Louis Rams.

The Left has a different opinion. Their attack revolved around Limbaugh’s alleged racism. It centered around this infamous quote: “Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing the streets were safer after dark.” CNN, MSNBC, James Carville, Al Sharpton and others all referred to this quote. However, none were able to produce audio of it. That is strange. Any member of “Rush 24/7" knows how simple it is to pull up Limbaugh quotes from years past. The reason for the audio’s absence was that RUSH NEVER SAID IT. The quote was created in 2005 by a blogger and later posted on a Wikepedia page.

Contrary to common belief, Rush Limbaugh is not a racist. This is clearly displayed in this most recent attack. Rush has talked for a living for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for over 20 years. He has written two books and appeared on television countless times. Yet the one quote repeated by the left to demonstrate his racist soul was pulled from a Wikepedia page and is completely false.

This should deeply offend all Americans. The media expected to get away with a blatant, destructive lie. A man has been publically slandered and discriminated against because of his beliefs. The virtues Americans fought for during the Civil Rights movement have been twisted to portray anyone against liberal collectivism as a bigoted racist.

When asked today about Rush Limbaugh’s chances of being allowed to purchase the Rams, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sarcastically stated “Fat Chance.” Rush’s credentials being otherwise stellar, the commissioner’s skepticism must be in reference to either the lies perpetrated by the Left or simply his conservative beliefs. If the media plans on committing slander and libel, and the NFL plans on violating the Civil Rights Act, I hope the American people plan on holding them both accountable.

Commentary: Obama's Policy Regarding Iran

One thing that constantly baffles me is the left’s inability and/or refusal to learn from the events of history. The situation in Iran provides a critical example of how ignorance can be extremely dangerous. Two obvious examples come to mind:

Appeasement of Aggressors

Appeasing aggressive parties is a strategy that has consistently failed especially within the last 100 years. The very idea goes against common sense. A greedy spirit will by no means cease to pursue their ambitions when the opposition shows weakness and a fear of confrontation.
Chamberlain’s weakness via appeasement in 1938 arguably allowed for Hitler’s invasion of Poland and the start of the second world war. Clinton’s appeasement of Kim Jong Il through aid funded the Nuclear program it was paying to prevent. A program which now threatens freedom in Asia on almost a monthly basis.

Yet Obama campaigned on and implemented polices of appeasement regarding Iran. He dropped pre-conditions on talks and stayed silent while revolutionaries attempted to bring freedom to the nation. Obama’s appeasement of Islamic fascism has allowed Iran to make giant leaps forward in both uranium enrichment and its foreign policy. Ahmadinejad now has so little respect for the US he feels free to boast about his nuclear reactors to the UN.

UN Sanctions

History has proven UN Sanctions to be a joke as they have consistently failed to prevent further conflict. Obvious recent examples being Iraq and North Korea. They show weakness on behalf of the entire World as they basically say "I am afraid of you, and will only use force as a last resort."
Furthermore the concept of sanctions regarding Iran is much more ridiculous. Sanctions will economically destroy the livelihoods of a people that have already expressed a desire for change in their government. A desire that has been forcibly repressed. The Iranian people have made it clear they want to be free. The regime has made it more clear that it will not be swayed by their demonstrations. Bringing further suffering to an already oppressed people is a waste of time.

Iran is controlled by a regime that believes a nuclear holocaust will bring about the coming of their messiah. It is dangerously stupid to believe that economic sanctions and the suffering of its population can lead to the end of islamic apocalyptic ambition.

Leftist naivety and ignorance of history use to solely effect the domestic lives of Americans. Repeated attempts to implement failed socialist policies formerly threatened only our livelihoods and freedoms. But as this naivety reaches into foreign policy and America’s war on terror, it now directly threatens not only our lives but the lives entire World.

Obama at the UN Commentary

The climate is changing in the World; that is indisputable. Fascism is growing across South and Central America, and deranged dictators are developing nuclear bombs and mid-range Missiles with the intentions of destroying entire nations, races and religions. However last week at the UN summit in New York City, our President’s main focus was on different kind of climate change, promoting his own deranged agenda while ignoring our Country’s and the World’s real problems.

At the Green Tea Party in Washington D.C. this Saturday, tax-paying Americans discussed the science behind man-caused global warming/climate change. Although the rally was from 1-4 PM, it took anyone with an open mind a 15 minutes analysis of the facts provided to realize the theory described as “indisputable” by the left, is indisputably a hoax. A fact sheet provided at the rally which discredits both the President’s theories on climate change and his cap and trade legislation has been posted on this blog. In five minutes of reading it, one can become more in tune with reality than anyone in the White House.

When finished speaking on global warming, a theory that now strikingly resembles the global cooling hoax of the 70s, the President moved to another failed theory of that era: disarmament. As rogue dictators and unstable countries all over the World develop weapons of mass destruction, Obama’s solution is for America to abandon its ability to protect itself. Eight years after 9/11 our new President believes that putting the great society at the mercy of its enemies will lead to peace on Earth.

The clear oversight in this judgment is that our weapons did not trigger the attacks of 9/11 and the following wars. It was our way of life and our commitment to an ally. Which should force all Americans to ask themselves what are Obama’s real intentions through the implementation of this policy? Is he trying to rid the World of nuclear weapons or put an end to the American lifestyle? For a man so glowingly adored by both Hugo Chavez and Muammar Qadhafi the latter does not seem so farfetched.

The League of Nations was originally envisioned by Woodrow Wilson as a place where human rights would be promoted and war would be discouraged. Last week the United Nations provided a pulpit for men who commit acts of terrorism, execute people without due process, destabilize entire continents and rob women of the most basic rights. It also provided a venue for our President to apologize for our country while being thoroughly embarrassed by an Iranian regime that clearly has no respect for him. The UN is no longer worthless in its ability to promote rights and ease conflict, it has become a detriment to these causes.

I for one never thought that I would miss George W. Bush. But as the Middle East lies on the brink of nuclear holocaust, and our finest in Afghanistan make the ultimate sacrifice without the slightest leadership or strategy, while our President travels to Denmark to beg for the Olympics in Chicago, I miss the days when America had a leader.

MSOP RECAP: Meeting September 22nd

The 9/12 march on Washington was a huge success. Several hundreds of thousands of people gathered (some report as many as 1 million) and I've read reports saying the White House was "shocked." Thanks to all the MSOP members that were able to make it, it was a great time.


I gathered with the students at the University of Maryland Thursday the 17th as we protested Obama's rally on the College Park Campus. We had a great time and it was encouraging to meet so many intelligent conservative students on what is a vastly liberal campus.

Obama Funds Oil Exploration in Brazil

Written Two Weeks Ago

Today President Obama lent two billion dollars to the Brazilians to drill for oil offshore. This is the same man who consistently claimed the environment was in such a state of crisis that cap and trade must be passed in the United States. This hypocrite pushed legislation through the house preventing economic growth for the sake of the environment in our country and two months later gave two billion dollars to support the same activity abroad.
This was done by the same man that will not stand up to dictators in Iran and North Korea but sends union muscle out to assault American citizens practicing their constitutional rights. As our enemies improve their nuclear technology and patrol our coasts with submarines he has ended the development of our fighter jets and downgraded our missile shields. This is a man who cannot bring himself to support Iranian revolutionaries fighting fascism, our greatest enemy and the government that funded the deaths of thousands of American troops in Iraq, but consistently finds time to mock conservatives and accuse Republicans, Fox News and Talk Radio of plotting against him. Time and time again he has found common ground with fascist dictators and has gone to war with tax-paying Americans.
To anyone with common sense this man’s intentions are crystal clear. He is a fascist, determined to destroy both the United States’ economy and military, putting us at the mercy of other fascist across the globe. Is he doing this because he is a hardened communist? Is he doing this do gain retribution for crimes he believes were committed against his father and his race? That does not matter, what matters is that he is not only putting you and your children at great risk for financial ruin, but at the risk of losing every one of your freedoms.

Steny Hoyer Town Hall

Last night’s town hall was an interesting and exciting event. Although I doubt Hoyer will change his position on the issues, the press could not help but report on the vocal opposition to government healthcare that exists even inside a historically democrat district.

Steny started the evening by making several outlandish claims via powerpoint. During his presentation he claimed the public option would fix medicare and provide affordable coverage for all without doing any damage to the economy. He also supported a claim by a fellow congressman that people who believe HR3200 would allow for the creation of "death panels" are "nuts" and went on to assure that healthcare under the public option would in no way be rationed.

Later in the evening, in response to a question posed by Collins Bailey, who may become Hoyer’s opponent in the 2010 elections, Steny claimed that the public option could provide health care to every American that wanted it without either raising taxes or increasing the deficit. He claimed the government would be so efficient in cutting costs that the program would be similar to an "investment" that would earn America money in the long run.

Where does one begin to respond to the absurdity of a democrat congressman, in the midst of the financial woes of social security, medicare, fannie and freddie, the post office and the entire nation, making a claim that the government will not only be fiscally responsible but that it possesses supreme cost cutting effectiveness that is non-existent in the private sector?

All that aside, the left has only provided solutions to coverage problems. They not only have no plans to return health care costs to their free market value but are deeply opposed to conservative efforts to do so. How then would the government cut costs? One only has to look to every nation with socialized healthcare in the World to find that answer. Every government run healthcare system in the World rations care and makes life or death decisions for its patients in something similar to what right wing nut jobs call death panels.

Steny Hoyer smoothly dodged several tough questions last night. Steny Hoyer also contradicted himself and lied directly to the faces his constituents, he was booed and jeered accordingly.

Thanks to everyone who attended our protest of Steny Hoyer on the 22nd. Over 125 people were there thanks to our efforts and those of two other conservative groups.
Several MSOP members are currently planning on attending Mr. Hoyer's town hall on September 1st. Feel free to join us if your available.
The September 12 national tea party in Washington D.C. is fast approaching. Keep this important event in mind as the date approaches.

Steny Hoyer Protest

The far-left is faltering. But this is no time to stop. It is now more important than ever to make sure our representatives know how we feel.
We will be protesting at Steny Hoyer's office on August 22. Not only is he a leader of the push for nationalized health care, but has publicly accused our entire movement of being un-american.
We will be at his Waldorf office from noon to three. Everyone is welcome but we would appreciate if you emailed us an RSVP to let us know you are joining us.

Here are the health care talking points we went over.

The Government Option is not about improving health.

• It is clear American health care is the best in the World.
• The US enjoys strikingly higher survival rates for common cancers than all other developed nations.
• The United States has higher survival rates for all four major cancer killers (colon, lung, breast and prostate) than any European nation. According to the national center for policy analysis Breast cancer mortality is 52% higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88% higher in the United Kingdom. Prostate cancer mortality is 604% higher in the U.K. and 184% higher in Canada.
• An American man has a 66% chance of surviving a malignancy, the European average for malignancy survival is only 47%, meaning one is more likely to die.

The United States has the most important health care in the World.

• The top five American hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single developed country.
• In only five of the last 34 years did a scientist living in America not win or share part of the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
• American ingenuity is vital to the human race’s betterment of existence. If American healthcare is brought down to the level of Europe’s, hopes of curing cancers or diseases like MS, and finding causes for disabilities such as autism become far less likely.

Liberal Claims of Scores of Uninsured are false

• The 46 million uninsured (always claimed to be 50) is made up of non-citizens, people already eligible for government programs, people of incomes above $75,000 a year or are uninsured for less than four months.
• Both the Congressional Budget Office and the Congressional Research Service place the actual number at approximately 9 million or 3% of the total population.
• Statistics Canada reports that 3% of the Canadian population’s only access to healthcare is through the emergency room.

Prostate mortality is 184% higher in Canada than in the US and 604% higher in the UK. The national cancer institute predicts 27,360 deaths from prostate cancer in 2009. That number multiplied by 1.84 is 50,342, by 6.04 is 165,254. If healthcare quality in the US drops to the level of Canada 22,982 more men would be much more likely to die of prostate cancer each year. If it drops to the level of Britains 137,894 men (The cost of the battle of Gettysburg*2.4) would be much more likely to lose their lives each year.

Government Health Care is a direct threat to freedom and the pursuit of happiness in the United States of America. These bullet points describe inclusions in the current house bill.

• On page 16 of the bill it is made clear once any aspect of your coverage changes you will be put on the public option and not allowed to leave.
• On page 29 the bill states that health care will be rationed.
• On page 42 it states that a health choices commissioner will make important health care choices for individuals.
• On page 58 it states that every person will have a national id health card.
• On page 59 it states that the federal government will have direct real time access to personal bank accounts.
• On page 72 it states that a person without acceptable health coverage will be taxed 2.5% of their income.
• On page 95 it states that officers of government health care will access to all American personal financial records.
• On page 429 it states that the government will have the power to order the beginning of end of life care as a patient’s health deteriorates.

We will be having our first informational meeting in order to get to know each other, distribute materials and discuss our plans for the very important month of August. I will be on vacation from Monday to Saturday, please keep encouraging fellow patriots to continue emailing as we will do our best to keep up. We have already seen an encouraging amount of feedback from several patriots and we are growing fast. Upon my return we will set a date for our first meeting and begin planning protests and other important events.

The Maryland Society of Patriots (M.S.O.P.) is a group of concerned and informed citizens that desire to restore and protect freedom in Maryland and in the United States of America. Although free will is a fundamental right bestowed on humanity by our God, it is a virtue that human beings have fought for since their creation. Tyranny has and always will exist; members of M.S.O.P. seek to protect themselves, their state and their country from it and allow life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Members of M.S.O.P. believe in American Exceptionalism. They believe that America is the greatest country in the World due to the brilliance of its founding. Therefore members believe that the Constitution is not a "living breathing document," but a set of rules that are to be followed. Members value property rights and individuality, and condemn government intervention in either the free market or in the lives of free individuals.
M.S.O.P. will allow the good people of this state to stay informed, voice their opinions, spend time with people of like minds and truly attempt to make an impact on the direction of the United States.
